Yoga and Meditation

Yoga has originated from the sanskrit word  ‘Yog’ meaning union. It’s both an art and a science of merging your body, mind and soul together to attain the ultimate goal of enlightenment. The practice originated in India about 5,000 years ago and has been adapted in other countries in a variety of ways.

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing.

Meditation is a simple practice available to all, which can reduce stress, increase calmness and clarity and promote happiness. Learning how to meditate is straightforward, and the benefits can come quickly.

Meditation and mindfulness are buzzwords these days for good reason but Yogis have been practicing dhyana (meditation) for millennia. If you want to get a glimpse of what meditation can do and learn its symbiotic relationship to yoga, then come and try one of our sessions.

Let’s get you started on the road to perfect balance and health, take a deep breath, and get ready to meditate.
